Brand Refresh - Aer Lingus

Travel with peace of mind

To help you plan and prepare for your journey, we’ve gathered country-specific travel requirements and restrictions. Below you’ll find links to forms you may be required to complete before travel, plus links to the latest local government information. Please ensure to:

  • Fill out the required passenger locator forms in advance of arriving to the airport for both departing and return flights (download and print the required form for each country, or submit online where available)
  • Check local government websites for the latest information before you fly – travel requirements and restrictions are subject to constant change.

New safety measures throughout the airport

Airports are introducing new measures to ensure physical distancing and reduced contact from check-in to security. When you arrive at the airport you’ll see protective screens, hand hygiene stations and our staff wearing face masks.

We recommend checking in online and using self-service and bag drop facilities where available – all to minimise contact.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions Aer Lingus lounges are closed temporarily. Partner lounges may also be closed.

Boarding will now be in small groups at a time, and according to your seat row number. At the boarding gate you can now scan your own boarding card, and show your passport or ID to the Aer Lingus staff, making this process contactless. Our new boarding process means that priority boarding is no longer available.

Enhanced cleaning and state of the art air filtration on board

We are introducing an enhanced cleaning system on all of our aircraft. The interior of every plane is thoroughly disinfected daily. All of our aircraft are fitted with state of the art air filtration used in operating theatres in hospitals.

Air Filtration

Air Filtration Technology

All our Airbus aircraft are fitted with state of the art air filtration technology.

These are the same air filters that are used in operating theatres in hospitals.

How effective is it?

99.97% of airborne particles such as viruses and bacteria are removed.

Cabin air is replaced every 3 minutes.

Aircraft air supply is essentially sterile and particle-free.

Face Coverings

It is now mandatory for all passengers to wear a face mask or covering to fly with us.

Our Cabin Crew will also be wearing face masks for the duration of your flight.

Face coverings can be reusable cloth masks or disposable masks. We recommend that these are worn from when you enter your departure airport, to when you leave your destination airport.

Young children who are not able to maintain a face covering are exempt from this requirement.

If you have a connecting flight, please be aware of other airlines’ policies regarding the use of face coverings.

Face masks should be replaced when they become wet or soiled, or after being worn for 4 hours. We would remind guests to ensure they have a sufficient supply of masks for the entire duration of their travel.

Inflight Service

Retail and refreshment services suspended on European flights

Inflight services including food and drink have been suspended on flights within Europe while a reduced service is available on transatlantic flights, with contactless payment for any purchases.

There will be reduced passenger movement in the cabin throughout our flights.

We’ve moved exclusively to contactless payments for in-flight shopping.
