Munich Airport has implemented numerous hygiene measures to ensure that passengers and guests can travel safely and have a comfortable stay during these times. In addition, the Bavarian authorities have set up corona test centers for arriving passengers at Munich Airport.

Munich Airport has taken a number of hygiene measures to ensure that its passengers can travel safely and relaxed in times of the coronavirus pandemic.
The following information are presenting the measures that have been implemented and what travelers and visitors can do themselves to protect their own health.

Preparations for your journey
This is what you can do before traveling and on your way to Munich Airport to protect yourself and others from an infection with the coronavirus:
- Bring your own mouth and nose protection (face mask)
- Use the Corona-Warn-App for your smartphone
- Inform yourself in advance about your flight and current travel and safety requirements
- Use the self-service options and the online check-in
- Follow the rules of conduct and hygiene
Please only start your journey if you are feeling well.
Requirement to wear masks in the terminals
It is mandatory to wear mouth and nose protection in all passenger terminals at Munich Airport. If you need a replacement during your trip, you can buy masks and other hygiene products in pharmacies, drugstores or at the Hygiene Article Machines in Terminal 2.

Face masks must be worn on public transport and at Munich Airport.
Driving to the airport
All multi-storey car parks and parking spaces at Munich Airport are open. New discounted prices apply for parking until December 31, 2020.
Your stay at Munich Airport

Some shops, restaurants and bars at Munich Airport are open again. Please note the changed opening hours.

Lounges
The Lufthansa Lounge in Terminal 2 (Level 04) is available daily to all premium and status guests. The VipWing is also open.
The Airport Lounge Europe will be open again daily from July 30.
The other lounges at Munich Airport are currently still closed.
Medical supply
If you become ill during your trip, you will be well looked after by the doctors at Munich Airport. The pharmacies in the terminals offer medication and professional advice.
Departure and arrival
We are currently bundling our passenger handling resources in both terminals at Munich Airport. All departures and arrivals are handled via Terminal 2 and Terminal 1, areas C, D and E.

Departing passengers in Terminal 1 will use the areas C and D to check in, before being taken through security and moving on to their respective gates in departure areas C and D Arriving passengers will be led through arrival areas C, D, and E.
For the following airlines, check-in will continue to take place at the Munich Airport Center (MAC):
- Eurowings
- Qatar Airways
- Tuifly
- SunExpress
- Pegasus Airlines
Baggage reclaim for these flights is located in Terminal 2.
All departures and arrivals planned in the satellite building will be handled via Terminal 2 (Gates G and H).
Tips for the security control
In order to keep the risk of an infection for yourself and the ground staff as low as possible, please pay attention to the following instructions during the security screening and passport control in addition to the well-known rules:
- Please wear a mouth and nose protection
- Only enter the checkpoint when requested and pay attention to the instructions of the security staff
- Keep a distance of minimum 1,5 metres from other persons
- Please bring only one piece of cabin baggage for inspection
- Please put your luggage trays back yourself
On board
Hygiene measures on board
Airlines have taken a number of hygiene and safety measures to protect passengers and crew members on board. These include, for example:
- New baggage regulations (only one piece of hand luggage per person)
- Modified boarding processes (boarding by groups)
- Modified onboard service
- Requirement to wear a face mask during flight

Cabin ventilation in the aircraft
Special air cleaning systems in the aircraft ensure fresh and purified cabin air. The air filters allow a complete air exchange within about three minutes.

Note for flights with Etihad and Emirates
Starting August 1, Etihad’ and Emirates’ passengers must present a negative PCR test result at check-in. The corona test must not be older than four days. This regulation applies to all flights of airlines from the United Arab Emirates.
